The third Sunday in September is designated each year by the USCCB as Catechetical Sunday. That is September 18 this year. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.
You can find more information at the following website on the history and significance of Catechetical Sunday, as well as many resources the Committee of Evangelization and Catechesis at the USCCB provides for parishes to celebrate this Sunday well, to highlight the important ministry of catechesis, and to perhaps even bless and commission your parish catechists:
Additionally, the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership (NCCL) also produces a good webpage with Catechetical Sunday resources. https://www.nccl.org/catecheticalsunday/
