Inspiring story of SMCHS athlete featured on TV

Darius Sparks (pictured hoisting the SMCHS 2013 football championship trophy, front right) has been a star athlete at St. Mary's Central High School in Bismarck. Now that his high school athletic pursuits are drawing to a close, he is looking to give back to the community.

Sparks spearheads fundraiser for playground equipment
Darius Sparks, a senior at SMCHS in Bismarck, is raising funds to benefit the students of St. Bernard Mission School, a part of the Bismarck Diocese’s Catholic Indian Mission in Fort Yates, N.D.

Sparks, once a student at the mission school, would like to improve its playground equipment.
