In Oct. 2012, the Church of Saint Wenceslaus (Dickinson) introduced the Centennial Renewal Capital Campaign to renovate and update the historic church in honor of its centennial year. Msgr. Patrick Schumacher, pastor, Fr. Kregg Hochhalter, parochial vicar, and the parishioners are excited to announce that $1.7 million, (or 67 percent of the $2.75 million goal) has been raised in cash, pledges or in-kind gifts. This amount has been committed by 182 parishioners and donors. Exciting to note, over 600 Saint Wenceslaus families are still discerning their gift to the centennial project to achieve the $1.05 million (or 33 percent) needed to meet the project goal.
A Mass celebrated by Bishop David Kagan and ceremonial ground breaking has been set for August 22, 2013; the feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The anticipated project completion date is April 20, 2014, Easter Sunday. May the Lord continue to bless the Centennial Project as Saint Wenceslaus parishioners are preparing for the future motivated by their love of the risen Christ. Anyone interested in making a donation to the Centennial Renewal Capital Campaign may send their tax-deductible donation to the Church of Saint Wenceslaus, 505 Third Street East, Dickinson, ND 58601.
