This is my 3rd year attending the March for Life and each time has been an amazing pilgrimage. This year was one that stood out to me right away, starting with the very first day and continued throughout the pilgrimage. I believe this was because of the presence of God. During the Life is Very Good Rally, and the March, I continually felt the presence of God and the joy that he brought me throughout the day. It allowed for the opportunity to realize that God was with me, the youth, and all the pro-life. God was able to bring us all together to show that all lives matter and that life is a gift. We were able to experience moments of powerful prayer for all lives and able to witness all those who came together to support and defend life and it is truly moving! I am very blessed to be able to experience this pro-life movement. – Olivia Gronos (Watford City)
On my experience in Washington D.C. I felt closer to God then I’ve ever felt my whole life. I felt my true connection. The times I’ve felt the most close was when were at Pope John Paul II museum and we were kneeling by his relic and I got to pray at the altar with his blood there. I felt like God and John Paul II were praying with me. Also at the rally during adoration, I could just feel the presence of Jesus taking over my emotions. Most importantly, the March was the most alive experience of my life. I felt like all those babies who didn’t get a chance were at peace. I felt like it was just me and God fighting against the world. – Anonymous
I really enjoyed this experience. I’m not Catholic but my daughter has decided this is the Church she wants to be part of (Epiphany in Watford City), which I fully support. We went to the concert and she lost part of her rosary which she was saddened by, so I said let’s go look for it and someone had seen it on the floor and put it on the sink. It has amazed me how kind and generous everyone is. I could go on but the Churches and priests were amazing. – Rose Riet-Kerk (chaperone)
Throughout the entirety of the trip, I saw God through all the people that attended the March. – John Sammons (Bismarck)
I am grateful for this pilgrimage. One thing that I appreciated was having Mass every day. It really helped me refocus on the purpose of the event and of course having Jesus with us on the trip made everything more meaningful. It was also awesome that Jesus would come to us whether we were on a bus or in a magnificent Cathedral. – Gloria Maertens (Center)
During the march, I saw a younger boy walking with who seemed like his little brothers. As we were walking, I saw God through this young boy when he asked his brothers if they knew what they were doing this for. When the little boys said they didn’t know, he replied “for people like us who don’t get a chance. All the babies that don’t get to live good lives like we do.” – Camille Klindworth (Beulah)
I experienced God on the trip during Adoration Thursday night. I particularly liked Adoration because I feel a deeper moment with him. Adoration in general touches me because is it so powerful. – Tanner Palaniuk (Beulah)
During this trip, where I experienced God the most was probably mass and at the Life is Very Good Rally when Sister Miriam talked about almost being aborted and how the impact of her speech wouldn’t have impacted anyone if she wasn’t alive. – Hunter Geerts (Regent)
This year was my 3rd year attending the March for Life and I feel as though each year gets better and better. Attending the March this year had a different vibe to it, and there was some sort of stronger feeling in my heart about the nation moving closer and closer to the goal of the March. During the March, God was extremely present in all the pro-life protestors with how peaceful and determined everyone was no matter the circumstances that arose. – Zanna Lyon (Watford City)
This was an awesome experience to share with my two daughters! It was so amazing to see so many young people with such zeal for life. That would be where I saw God, in marching along with them and their love for life is just contagious. – Sarah Porcello (chaperone – Mohall)
I could feel the power in the pro-life movement. The zeal of the youth combined with the power of the message of pro-life are clearly the work of the Holy Spirit. – Jacob Bennet (Seminarian)
